The Girls....

I thought I would introduce you to my girls.......
my Rhrode Island Red heads.

They are pretty much my organic garbage disposal.

The more scraps they get.....

the more eggs I get.....

There's nothing like fresh eggs!!!

My chicken coop backs up to my horse pasture.  Sooooo whenever I mess with my chicks,
my horses have to stick their noses in our business....
literally...

They always have to know what's going on....who knows......
maybe they like eggs too.

On second thought.....

Maybe not!!

Time for a breather

Whew! What a busy few weeks this has been.

First my shop's Harvest Thyme Open House, then a whirlwind trip to Colorado to accompany my daughter as she drove back to Indiana after working on a Dude Ranch all summer.

I love colorado......I wonder if the peope who live there realize how fortunate they are....

I flew into Denver where she picked me up, for a sweet reunion, then we drove to Estes Park and stayed there overnight.

We were there at the perfect time.  The Aspens were turning golden.  They were absolutely...breathtaking...

Pictures just don't do justice.......

Soooooo pretty....everywhere you look......

"The Mountains are calling and I must go".......

I wanna go back.......

I know what John Denver was singing about.......

Sometimes we just need to be still and listen......

The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park

The big Sky..........It makes me realize how little I am.....

On our way home we stopped at my Aunt's house in a little town in southwest Iowa. Lenox, Iowa.

We had such a great visit.  I'm so very fortunate to have such a big family!!

I am so thankful to have my sweet daughter home safe and sound.......

I am thankful her car made it 1000 miles without mishap......

What a beautiful world we live in.

God is good!!

Sweet Harvest

Today is Labor Day. The end of summer.  Kind of.  You would never know it with the near 90 degree temperatures.

An official day off for those of us who are lucky enough to work someplace other than retail.
I work at a school so I was ecstatic to have the day off.  Yipee!!

I worked out in my shop almost all day long....no air conditioning.....very hot...
Hot muggy weather and a menopausal women do not go well together...
just sayin.....

I'm getting the shop ready for a Fall Open House in less than 2 weeks.

I cleaned and sweat and moved furniture and I do feel somewhat more organized.

In between sweating and cleaning I had to harvest my Sweet Annie.

Sweet Annie is a fragrant herb from the Artemisia family.  I use alot of it in my wreaths as filler and I absolutely LOVE the smell.

I ended up getting about 15 large bunches.

Then I had to find places to hang it to let it dry.
I could have put some of it in the barn but the birds have a way of marking their territory...

if you know what I mean....

So, I hung them in my shop all over the place.
It smells so FRAGRANT and FRESH!

I'll be busy.....

Still learning......

I have been officially "blogging" for a little over a week now.  Yes, I am slightly and I do mean slightly more familiar with the blogging world.

There are so many absolutely beautiful blogs out there...and....when you click on one.... you see the blogs that that blog follows.....and then you click on one of those....... and see the blogs that they follow.....and then you click on one of those....and you can see even more....it never ends....

It gives me a serious hot flash....but also something to aspire to.

So many beautiful photos....So many Etsy shops!  I too have an Etsy shop.  I have been selling for over a year now and I LOVE it!

Thought I'd share some of my favorite Etsy items both sold and currently for sale.

I absolutely LOVE enamelware!!

I always buy it with intentions of selling it....I usually keep more than I sell...

I have been making wreaths for more than 25 years.......wow...that's a whole lotta wreaths!!!

I love the color of this Vintage 1961 Pyrex.

This is one of my favorite aprons!  I'm secretly glad it hasn't sold yet..

More Enamelware......I use alot of eggs in my photos......

I really love this sweet little tan and red enamelware coffee pot
and wish I hadn't sold it.
I've been searching for another one since....

See?  I told you it was cute!!

This cake tin was a great find too.

Geeze!!! I guess I do use alot of eggs in my photos......

They do add a little something don't you think???...
Well that's all for now.
I don't want to bore anybody.  Ha Ha.

Oh wait...
Here's another one of my favorite wreaths.....

Sorry, I just had to get that one in there.

Have a great night!

Bath Day

I thought I would take advantage of some of the last
hot days of the season
and give my sweeties a bath.

 They were less than thrilled.......

So after they were nice and shiney and clean this is what
they did just to show their appreciation,

 Some thanks I get!!

Have a great day,

Early signs of Fall....

                                          It's coming!!
Finally....ahhhh....my favorite season.  Fall! I know it isn't even labor day yet but I'm ready. Unfortunately, Fall also comes with the reminder of everything I wanted to get done this summer but didn't.  UGH!  We won't think about that.....It's gonna give me a serious hot flash if I do.

Thought I would share some of my early Fall observations with you....

We are getting towards the end of the tomatoes in the garden.

Leaves just beginning to change....see...they're trying....

There's even a few falling.

Here in Indiana we have lots of corn.  Corn everywhere!
I gotta say, I love the corn!!
Especially when it starts to dry and turn golden.
Seriously...I love it!!

You can't drive too far without seeing fields like this.
Don't you just love it??!!!

How about some fiery sunsets....

More corn... ha ha.!!

Yes, the days are getting shorter, the nights cooler,
the air crisper....aaahhhhh.....
sigh.....
I love it!!
God is good!!!
Happy almost Fall!!

And on that happy note, I bid you goodnight!
Sweet Autumn dreams!
